This match will be played at the FC Den Bosch complex.
CHAMPIONS, CHAMPIE, CHAMPIONS!!!
After a fantastic decider match on the FC Den Bosch fields, PSV D1 became champions this afternoon. Willem II D1 was defeated 6-0 by a supreme PSV.
From the start it was clear who was the better team. PSV was well organized and every duel was fought with passion. After just a few minutes the score was opened. Rai Vloet was given space on the edge of the penalty area to take a shot and slid the ball into the goal, out of reach of the goalkeeper.
As PSV won the battle, especially in midfield, Willem II hardly had a chance to play football. PSV got plenty of chances, but until then it was only 1-0. For a moment everyone on the PSV side held their hearts, when a Tilburg striker headed towards Jeroen Meurs' goal. But after good interference by Sam Schuite and excellent intervention by the goalkeeper, this chance was foiled.
Immediately afterwards, Jorrit Hendrix steamed up from his own half, he passed to Endy Opoku Bernadina, who played himself free and played to Michael Maria. Michael worked his way past the Willem II defender and slid the 2-0 into the ropes! This was on the stroke of half-time, leaving Willem II disillusioned and looking for the dressing room.
After tea, Willem II looked to attack and it was Ali who was unlucky with a shot on the cross of the PSV goal, defended in the second half by Zeus de la Paz. After this, a whirlwind PSV show began. First it was Endy Opoku Bernadina who played himself unprecedentedly free and put the ball on the tie of Jeroen Meefout who managed to wriggle the ball over the goal line (3-0). Shortly afterwards Jorrit Hendrix again soloed through the Willem II lines and after Endy got himself free via the ball he scored the 4-0. Willem II had several more shot opportunities after sloppy defending, but Zeus had an angel on the crossbar this afternoon, so Willem II's shots all missed the target by a hair.
After this it was showtime again for PSV D1. Endy played himself free twice on the back line, first on the left flank and then on the right. He played the ball twice to the free Michael, who increased the score to 6-0. After the final whistle of the referee (assisted by two neutral linesmen) a huge party erupted among the PSV players and the large number of supporters. The bottles of champagne were opened and the PSV D1 players fell into each other's arms in happiness.
A big compliment goes out to Willem II D1 who again proved to be more than an excellent opponent of PSV D1. Willem II played an unfortunate game today, but these guys can also look back on an excellent season in which (except in this decider) Willem II did not lose.
