In the first league match after the winter break, PSV D1, without the injured Olivier Rommens, Joep van Vroenhoven and Jordy de Wijs and without Aron Schnorrenberg (C2), Jeroen Meurs (C2) and Daan Bollen (C1), achieved a convincing 2-0 victory in the away match against NAC D1. PSV opened strongly and it was Endy Opoku Bernadina who was launched well in the depth after ten minutes of play, shook off his direct opponent and shot the 0-1 in a controlled manner. PSV dominated the game and several good chances were created. Sven van de Kerkhof was able to reach Rai Vloet with a couple of splitting deep passes and this put the NAC defense to the test time and time again. Yet it took until just before halftime before the liberating 0-2 hit the scoreboard. Jeroen Meefout passed several opponents from the right and from the edge of the penalty area he curled the ball into the goal with his left leg via the inside of the post.
After tea, PSV remained lord and master. The PSV defense did not give away a single chance in the entire match and PSV went on the hunt for more goals. Gino 'Captain' Girigori was surprisingly brought in by coach Jefta Bresser in the second half as left back and he did an excellent job at this strange spot for him.
The D2 players Riechedly Bazoer and Kaan Baysal also played well.
Due to Carnival there is no league program next weekend and this gives the chance to all injured players to recover, so hopefully everyone will be fit in time for the topper in two weeks at home against Willem II!!!
