Today we cross the border to Germany to play against Alemania Aachen. These had gained 1 point from the previous two games. After some wandering, yours truly managed to reach the accommodation, which was well hidden, to report back. The first minutes are for PSV and this leads to a chance for Greg who is sent in deep by Davy. Moments later it is again Greg who just cannot get his head right behind the ball. However in the 10th minute Alemania takes the lead after a scrimmage from a corner kick. PSV did not let up after this unfortunate goal and went in search of the equalizer. An Alemania defender prevented a nice PSV attack from being completed. However, it takes until the 20th minute when PSV scores the equalizer. Greg intercepts the ball in the build-up and finishes coolly. Moments later, PSV even looks to take the lead when Koen sends Niels away on the left, but his shot unfortunately hits the crossbar. Just before half time, PSV suffers a setback. PSV made a mistake in the build-up, allowing Alemania to score the 2-1. Also in the second half, PSV has the most ball possession, only the right final pass to create real chances is missing. It takes a while when a nice attack via Joey, Koen and Davy's shot deserved a better fate. Moments later it is Joey who sends Greg away and his shot is parried with some difficulty. PSV continues their search for the equalizer. For example, after a free kick, Joop just doesn't get to the ball to finish effectively. At the following corner kick, the effort is cleared just before the line. Against the odds, Alemania decided the game five minutes before time by scoring 3-1. However, just like last week, a victory would have been possible. But that's football.
