  1. Match report

PSV C2 ended the away match against ADO Den Haag C2 with a draw (1-1). In this last match of the spring competition, PSV C2 unfortunately had to do without the contribution of the injured Jordy de Wijs, Joep van Vroenhoven, Jorrit Hendrix and Aron Schnorrenberg. This forced coach Edwin de Wijs to call on the excellent playing Gijs van Baast and Mohammed Rayhi, who came on in the second half. PSV C2 was the better team from the first whistle, but the sharp counter of ADO Den Haag C2 was constantly lurking. In the twentieth minute it was Olivier Rommens, as always the combative captain, who entered the ADO Den Haag penalty area and was tapped from behind. Penalty kick, all PSV players thought, but the referee pretended not to notice and let the game continue. That was the end of the first half for PSV. In the thirty-fifth minute, ADO Den Haag C2 was awarded a free kick, which was pumped high into the PSV C2 penalty area. Suddenly an attacker of ADO Den Haag C2 was completely free and could shoot the ball unchallenged (1-0). The referee then immediately whistled for the end of the first half.

From the start of the second half, PSV C2 showed that they did not intend to lose this match. PSV C2 won almost all duels and ADO Den Haag C2 was increasingly forced back into their own half. In the fifty-fifth minute, Endy Opoku Bernadina was sent away well in the deep. Endy beat the defenders of ADO Den Haag C2 on pure speed and deftly slid the ball in (1-1). PSV C2 smelled the victory, but shots by Rai Vloet and the substitute Clint Leemans fell to the good goalkeeper of ADO Den Haag C2. At the other end of the pitch, PSV C2 could not complain when a long-distance shot from ADO Den Haag C2 went over the goal of Daan Bollen, who had replaced Jeroen Meurs. The irritation in the field grew and the atmosphere between the players of both teams did not improve. PSV C2 tried to get the victory, but unfortunately did not succeed in the remaining time. With this result, PSV C2 finished in third or fourth place in the spring competition.

The last league game of this season was also marked by the approaching farewell of goalkeeper Daan Bollen (five seasons PSV), defender Joep van Vroenhoven (five seasons PSV), midfielder Clint Leemans (five seasons PSV), defender Sven van de Kerkhof (five seasons PSV) and striker Jeroen Meefout (four seasons PSV). This brings an end to a beautiful episode in the football lives of these players and they will go in search of new footballing happiness.

For me, Jeroen's farewell as a PSV player also means farewell for me as a semi-objective writer of the weekly match reports. I would like to thank all PSV players for four great years and wish you all a good future.

Jeroen Meurs, Daan Bollen, Sander Heesakkers, Sam Schuite, Jordy de Wijs, Aron Schnorrenberg, Sven van de Kerkhof, Joep van Vroenhoven, Jorrit Hendrix, Clint Leemans, Olivier Rommens, Vinnie Vermeer, Rai Vloet, Michael Maria, Endy Opoku Bernadina and Jeroen Meefout thank you for four unforgettable seasons. Best of luck in the rest of your lives.

And come times of great adversity
Then we will show what friendship can do
The battle will ignite everyone fights along
    Forward now Red-Whites forward PSV!
