  1. Match report

The early stages in the match favored PSV. PSV put pressure early and Genk was limited to defending. However, two distance shots by PSV in the early stages missed the target. After this initial phase, Genk got better in the match. This gave Genk some opportunities without becoming really dangerous. A PSV goal midway through the first half was disallowed due to offside. Yet it was PSV that eventually took the lead in the first half in the 28th minute. A cross from Jur ended up at the feet of Genrich. Genrich was tapped inside the sixteen-meter area and fell which resulted in a deserved penalty kick. Genrich took the penalty kick himself and he shot in nicely, 1-0. This was also the score at halftime.

Early in the second half Genk had an immediate opportunity to score after PSV lost the ball. The cross reached the free man in front of the goal. However, his effort went wide. A few minutes later Genk had another opportunity to score after unnecessary ball loss by PSV. The shot, however, went just over. In the 45th minute PSV had an opportunity to score after a nice ball shot by Amin. His cross ball to Heritier was shot wide by Heritier. In the same minute, PSV did manage to extend the score. Now it was Heritier who passed the ball to Amin who shot the 2-0. After this goal, PSV took the initiative again without creating any real chances. The final score was 2-0.

This was the last match in preparation for the league that will start next week.
