'12 1-0 Joey Konings
'65 2-0 Karim Bannani
PSV started Saturday's 2nd half of the competition with difficulty. At home against FC Groningen, they were nowhere near the level of the away game against the guests, which ended in a very big win (1-7) earlier in the season.
Coached by assistant coach Colin Williamson, who was taking TC1 youth exams, the B2 played a lackluster and sloppy game that had few highlights from either side. Nevertheless, the Eindhoven goals were of beauty. After more than 10 minutes, Arnaut Groeneveld sent striker Joey Konings towards the Groningen goalkeeper with a nice through pass, who scored the 1-0 with a fine stick. In the 2nd half, Karim Bannani finished off a deep ball that Joey Konings passed through with a half-volley over the Groningen goalkeeper, which also made the final score 2-0. Apart from the goals, only two more things were worth mentioning. 10 minutes before time, defender Kaan Tanriver was sent off with a red card, according to the referee for kicking an opponent who was on the ground after a duel. As a result, Kaan will have to miss the next match -notably against Ajax-. In addition, defender Bram Zwanen had to leave the field after an unfortunate action in which he got a knee of his opponent full in his face, and had to go to the hospital for treatment with a large swelling on his cheekbone and a tear in the middle of it, which was glued in the hospital.
Anyway 3 points added for the B2, which plays Tuesday night at 18:30 the substituted league match in Amsterdam against Ajax, which lost to AZ on Saturday and is well behind PSV in 6th place in the league table. Coach Colin congratulations and Bram get well.
