The week of truth. Points will be expensive today but important. Feyenoord is out to take points to at least add some color to their season.
Both teams start brightly. In the beginning it is a lively match. Feyenoord does have the upper hand. The choices we make, especially in the build-up, are not always good and there is little variation. Feyenoord can put pressure quickly and we don't get into the game we want to play. Every time Feyenoord manages to intercept the ball and we do not get further than the center line in our build-up. A few times, in standard situations, we manage to create a chance and Jordy is close to a goal with a header from a corner. But the best chances in the first half are for Feyenoord.
The second half has to be different. We now have more variation in our build-up and can put pressure on Feyenoord. We got a few chances, but the biggest one was for Olivier, who took the ball in the penalty area, but unfortunately shot high over after an action by Ryan.
It is now just waiting for the moment that the goal will fall and that comes. A long ball from behind arrives at Wessel Dammers who takes the ball brilliantly and shows his heels to our defenders, who are all on one line, and shoots in a controlled way 1 - 0.
Now the game waves back and forth. Zeus had to intervene a couple of times in a one-on-one situation and did well to keep the score at 1-0. A sluggish offensive almost resulted in an equalizer but the frustration was too much for us, as evidenced by Suently's foul on the halfway line, which was punished with a red card.
Too bad guys but we could have done more today. We can make up for this on Tuesday because Ajax will come to Herdgang and then there are three points on the line. The match that matters.
We won't let ourselves be bullied, guys. Let's go for it. And there's no point in getting angry, because people with a temper often have a bad landing.
See you on Tuesday.
Goodbye.
