  1. Match report

Another topper in the premier league. We want to win to stay in the lead and Twente wants to win to keep the connection. It is chilly or actually quite cold on the bench. The coach also has some discomfort but still he knows how to motivate the boys and indicates that games like this will be decided on small details. We start well although the first chance is for Twente but they haven't set their sights properly yet. No then PSV. After four minutes we get a free kick on the right. Olivier (Ollie for friends) cleverly takes it high in front of the goal, Ryan blocks his opponent and Jordy puts his head against the ball and it disappears into the left corner out of reach of the goalkeeper. 0 - 1. We continue and we are the superior side. After 24 minutes we are dangerous again and so much so that Twente has to make a mistake and the free kick is for us. Jordy put himself behind the ball and hit it over the wall, out of reach of their goalkeeper. 0 - 2. We continue and don't give away a chance. After half an hour, a corner from Ollie is headed in by, of course Jordy, but the ball is cleared off the line and the rebounding ball is tapped in by the other half of our central duo. 0 - 3 after half an hour. What a wealth. On the stroke of half-time, Moussa sent Ollie into the depths and he rounded the goalkeeper but the ball landed on the post. Half time 0 - 3.
In the dressing room we put the finishing touches to the game. Press on and go home with a nice win.
But how different is it then. A game in your hands that seems to slip through your fingers within two minutes. First a miss in the backline and the 1 - 3 is on the board and actually from the kick-off another slip behind and it is just 2 - 3 instead of 4 or 5 nil.
We have to get our backs up and work hard a few more times to take the three points on the bus.
After 94 minutes the referee blows the whistle and the three points are ours.
The top spot remains for us for another week. Today we learned another lesson from which we can benefit in further matches.
Because also for us it is true: He who commits a mistake and does not correct it, commits another one.
On to next week against Sparta.
    Good luck. Goodbye.
