  1. Match report

PSV - AJAX has always been a loaded duel. So also with our youngsters of the D2.
Today 23/10/2010 this topper was on the bill. Battleground, the accommodation of the Herdgang. No, no artificial turf this time, but the real stuff. On field 1.
The supporters had apparently also been looking forward to this duel because along the sidelines everything was well filled, despite the rain showers that tried to throw a spanner in the works.
Ajax got off to the best start and PSV seemed impressed. The ball that had been moving around well lately and had become something of a trademark by now did not appear to be rolling so smoothly now. A back pass, a bit too short for Lars to reach, a little misunderstanding at the back where Pepijn was very alert, were a few examples that PSV had started quite nervously.
This resulted in the first goal for Ajax after 4 minutes. A deep ball from the middle kicked in one time over Pepijn. 0-1. Nice goal.
Only after 16 minutes, PSV comes on with a shot from Jordan that goes just over. One minute later, Jordan again, and again just over. Did PSV wake up?
Yes, because in minute 18 Justin plays Robin, who sees Amar leave, perfect in the run and Amar pops in the short corner. 1-1.
Just before half time Amar goes through on the right and passes to Justin, who sees his shot go over.

    We rested at 1-1.

The second half started as the first one had stopped, with a lot of midfield play and the occasional poke from both the home team and the visitors. But no significant chances.
After 10 minutes in the second period, PSV gets away well when a cross from the left is kicked at one time on the crossbar. We (the supporters of PSV ) liked to see it happen, because at that moment Ajax is the better team.
And that a team is made up of sixteen players is proven by Huseyin, who has just stepped in, with a fine pass to Cody, but the Ajax goalkeeper picks up handsomely.
Ajax plays better, brighter and faster, PSV on the other hand keeps looking for Amar, also dangerous of course, but at that moment a little better to defend. With Ajax, the danger comes from everywhere. They have also realized that at the home team, I have the impression that PSV has found its "old form" again. The ball runs better, the running movements without the ball are back and it swings again.
When Amar slips through the offside trap and sees Cody in the perfect position, it is a piece of cake to tap in the 2-1.
Cody gets a chance for 3-1 two minutes later but Ajax defended well.
On a free kick for Ajax in an ideal position, one Bobby puts himself behind the ball and pops beautifully into the cross, you rarely see them go in like that on television. 2-2.
Barely a minute later a visitor comes face to face with Pepijn, Pep saves but on the rebound he has to give in. 2-3.
Pepijn is well in the game and plays flawlessly. By then he had already met the post (which was hard) and had a foot on his head (also hard). He doesn't let himself get off the hook.
Then the PSV feast begins. Huseyin, shooting from just outside the penalty area, saw his shot blocked by the goalkeeper.
At the back, the defense was also tight as Steven intervened well on a breakaway player.
The balance was found, and the icing on the cake came from "Mr. Dickens". Lars' cross from 30 meters, a peal right under the crossbar. Lovely goal, goal of the month? The 3-3 is a fact just before the end. Again no defeat for PSV we think somewhat positive. Lars is surrounded by his teammates, and he enjoys it, you can see that from miles away by the wide smile on his face.
And it is not over yet. Because when Jordan sends Amar deep, his measured cross arrives perfectly at the newly entered Roland Kartallozi, he counter-foots the keeper and shoots in for the 4-3. Rolands' dad gets mad, he just wants to run onto the field to congratulate his canker. But thirty men stop him, just enough , it turns out.
When "Ro" then gives an assist just before the whistle to Cody, who lobs the ball delightfully over the goalkeeper, it is suddenly 5-3. Cody's dad gets mad again and thirty men are not enough. Only the fence of field 1 turns out to be a little too high. John is picked up and put back in the stands. What a hassle.
But if football is a party ( and it is ) then it has been celebrated regularly at the D2 lately. Ajax trainer Dennis Bergkamp had to watch with sorrow as PSV pulled the rug out from under their feet in the closing stages. Although it must be said that the D2 of Ajax is a really good footballing team.
The referee's final signal sounded and the players all fell into each other's arms. Tiredly fought, but satisfied.
And trainer Bastiaan ... he enjoyed ... all that beauty.

Propaganda for football. Everything was in this match. Joy and sorrow were close together. From the cold temperatures no one complained for a long time.
It was enjoyable again boys. Thank you kindly for this !

    Final result PSV D2 - AJAX D2 5-3.
