  1. Match report

Geldrop cannot punish individual drive PSV

For some PSV players the autumn vacation was just beginning, for others it was almost over. For everyone, the match in and against Geldrop was very early and very cold. You could get quite warm from counting the goals, unfortunately not from the game.

The last few weeks the youngest PSV players had shown that they know how to find each other better and better in the field, even though the composition of the F1 and F2 changes every week. Last week in the practice matches against the E-tjes of Utrecht-based Hercules, the boys were forced by their opponents to combine well. This resulted in beautiful football.

Against Geldrop, the F2 was again a collection of loners who started their PSV adventure two months ago.
There were really nice actions and plenty of goals. But there was not much of the development of the last weeks. The temptation and space to go for goal were too big.

That was an extra pity today because Geldrop had a team that had a different attitude against PSV than most teams. Usually the only goal of the opponents seems to be to score as few goals as possible and the whole seven are entrenched in front of their own goal.
It was commendable that Geldrop kept playing (trying to play) their own football from the beginning to the end. It would have been good for everyone if the Geldrop boys had been able to punish PSV's individual drive a bit more.
At least in the second half Geldrop did make sure that the boys got stuck in a bit more often and the score could not be taken to the extreme. Even so, the final score was 0-15.

In the coming weeks the F2 will probably have to work harder. Next week DBS awaits, a week later Eindhoven. Both teams share second place and are undoubtedly keen to give PSV a hard time. In between those games there is a mini-tournament in Genk, Belgium on the program for the F of PSV.
