Beforehand, the coach was still saying that one game a year you are going to struggle in the league. That came true and we owe it to ourselves. Throughout the match, PSV had a field advantage but could not convert it into enough goals.
The temperature was too high and the tempo too low. Only after more than 15 minutes came the first real opportunity to score. From a corner kick by Beslan, Yorbe was able to take the ball well and shoot in hard 0-1.
Half-time score 0-1.
After the break PSV started the game well by putting pressure on the opponent. After four minutes Yorbe was able to conquer the ball and shoot hard into the free corner 0-2.
Not much later Dommelen almost scored from a breakthrough but luckily the ball hit the post. PSV had enough opportunities to extend the lead. Unfortunately three shots hit the post and one hit the crossbar.
Shortly before the final whistle Dommelen got a free kick and it was cleverly shot in 1-2. In the last minute Dommelen again got a free kick and this resulted in a corner kick. From this corner the ball was put back and with a hard distance shot Dommelen came alongside.
Considering the number of missed chances and the field superiority, PSV deserved a victory. But you don't always get what you deserve. The first point loss of this league is a fact. Maybe too much champagne last week.
