Today at the Herdgang we played Helmond Sport. We had won and lost to this team before. We knew that we had a very difficult time in Helmond then.
We started the game very sloppy. We came under pressure and brought problems upon ourselves. After ten minutes we got behind on a corner kick. 0-1. Fortunately, we started to play better after that goal. Mathijs dribbled into the Helmond Sport penalty area and gave the ball to the free Mohammed Nassoh. Mohammed Nassoh outmaneuvered his opponent and scored a flawless shot. 1-1.
We started the second half very well. From a corner, our central defender, Nigel Lonwijk scored the 2-1. Then came the highlight of this morning. Jur was played in tight, high up. He then laid it beautifully, with one move, ready for Mohammed-Amine Ihattaren. That saw Mohammed Nassoh run deep and gave it right down the barrel. Mohammed Nassoh got one-on-one with the goalkeeper and coolly shot it in. 3-1, in Barcelona-like fashion. Not much later, it was Mohammed-Amine Ihattaren who fired a well-aimed shot from the edge of the sixteen meters. 4-1. In ten minutes, the game was decided.
In the third half the players were warned to stay sharp. We had to turn this comfortable lead into a nice victory. We did and Mathijs added to that. After a dribble in midfield he shot high in from about twenty meters. 5-1.
Today we started sloppy but we recovered wonderfully. Especially in the second half we showed how well we can play football. On March 2 we play our next league game, away against Fortuna Sittard.
