PSV A1 played Saturday afternoon against FC Twente/Heracles, which is one place higher in the league table than our A1. Earlier this season they won handsomely in Enschede, but due to injuries and suspensions PSV A1 is now in a slightly different situation than back then. With more B-juniors than A-juniors in the starting line-up, PSV started the game against Twente. Both teams tried to put pressure on the ball quickly, so the game was up and down and many duels had to be fought in midfield. In the first half there were few clear-cut chances for either team. PSV became dangerous mainly through standard situations or a single attack on the wing. Defensively, PSV was well positioned and hardly gave away any chances.

In the second half there was one big opportunity for PSV. Top scorer Lars Hutten was able to head a cross from the left against the wall. The Twente goalie, Nick Hengelman, could only just reach the ball and turned away Hutten's effort. The ball came near the goal line at the feet of Youness Mokhtar, but in a duel with the defender the Twente player worked the ball away. At the other end, it was goalkeeper Zoet who reacted attentively to a ball that fell over the defense. In the closing stages Hengelman had to act again, only just managing to keep the ball inside the penalty area, according to the referee. A fair result for a game without many chances.
