The away match against Willem II D1 ended in a big disappointment for the boys of PSV D1. From the first minute of this match, Willem II was the brighter team. Willem II won almost all duels and because of this PSV D1 was always behind. After five minutes a corner that was initially turned away was rushed into the net by the captain of Willem II. Halfway through the first half Willem II deservedly took a 2-0 lead from a free kick that was headed in at the second attempt. Shortly before halftime, Willem II even managed to run out to 3-0.
In the second half PSV D1 showed more initiative, but unfortunately did not create any big chances. In the 20th minute of the second half Jorrit Hendrix scored with a beautiful shot from outside the penalty area into the crossbar. PSV still tried everything. Twice a PSV player was brought down in the penalty area by an opponent, but the referee, who was a good judge, did not dare to give PSV a penalty. The grapes were sour for our boys, as this was the third defeat against Willem II's peers in the last three league games. More success next week against RBC.
