  1. Match report

PSV C1 failed to win the last three league games. As a result it seems to have dropped out of the title race. Today in Den Bosch they faced a tough opponent from whom they won 0-3 at home, but since then they have made a big step up in the rankings. With a solid 4th place and with 'only' 5 points less than PSV, Bossche is simply having a great season.

PSV started the game well. After captain Justin Lonwijk almost put Leandro Fernandes in a promising position in the 5th minute, it was a goal in the 7th minute. A cross from the right from Amar Catiç landed at the 2nd post where Justin was ready to shoot. Curiously, he did not get the ball on his shoe but under it. Beautifully he then scored with his "undershoe" by "shooting" the ball into the far corner.

A great start of course, but within fifteen minutes Den Bosch also got a big chance by creating danger from a corner. PSV was clearly the superior side and managed to double the lead in the 23rd when Yasin Aalillou managed to find the net in two instances after a good cross from Amar.

After Cody Gakpo saw his left-footed effort blocked by the Bossche goalkeeper in the 27th minute, it was a minute later. After a quick attack on the left, the ball ended up in the hands of Robin Schoonbrood, who first got himself free and then used a velvet pass to set up the back Jordan Teze, who came in free in front of the Boss goal. Jordan remained calm and slid the ball past the goalkeeper into the far corner like an accomplished striker: 3-0!

A minute later it was again a success: Amar passed his direct opponent as if he wasn't there, got to the goal line and could choose which teammate could attempt a goal. It was Justin, who completed the scoring and put PSV's fourth and his second on the scoreboard.

Thus the 3Js scored (if we may take the poetic liberty of considering Yasin a J). And at times it was Enjoy with capital letter of the PSV game.

In the second half the spectators saw the same picture: PSV the better team that at times cut through the Bossche lines via good combination. Den Bosch sporadically came in front of Arne Lekens' goal in that period. After Cody was unlucky that a cross to him was just touched at the last moment, preventing him from scoring, it was Robin Schoonbrood who scored with his left in the 45th minute. Just 6 minutes later it was Yasin who shot the ball well behind the goalie after a nice solo from Den Bosch: 6-0. And that for a team that has been struggling to find the net frequently throughout the league.

The cake was not yet over though! Leandro Fernandes scored another goal after a technical highlight. Seven minutes before time Justin scored his third of the afternoon after a fine cross from the right by Baggio Wallenburg.

For a moment, PSV seemed to be heading for double digits. But Leandrp was unfortunate with his header after a tailored cross from Yasin. As PSV's attacks became more sloppy in the final stages, the 9th goal did not come. Well, it did fall, but at the other end. After keeper Arne Lekens saved the game, a Bossche player on the edge of offside was able to save the honor from the rebound.

With a more than deserved victory, PSV gained confidence for the next match. And that is not just any match! It is the cup semi-final match against AZ. Come see that and support us next Saturday, March 29 at 1 p.m. at De Herdgang!
