Today we had an important match on the schedule, because if we win, a championship will be almost impossible for the boys.
Last week, today's opponent Bladella had already done us a great favor by winning against closest rival Geldrop. Once again a sign not to underestimate our guests. From the first whistle it was clear that it would not be easy, the game went up and down without too many chances, the boys were better. We had to be careful at the back and Joël K had to intervene a few times. PSV also had a few chances but either the goalkeeper was in the right place or the finishing was not accurate enough. It remained 0-0 for a long time and the crowd had to wait until 4 minutes before halftime for the first goal. Through a fast running attack over a number of drives the ball came to Jochem who with a beautiful assist put Achraf free in front of goal who knows what to do with these kind of chances and finished off very coolly, 1-0. It looked like the way to the goal was found, because 1 minute later the ball was in the net again. This time the assist came from Achraf and Thijs was the one who finished with a great finish, 2-0. A fantastic attack through good combination play between Damian, Lars and Thijs seemed to decide the game, but the Bladella goalkeeper prevented Thijs from scoring his 2nd goal.


After tea Bladella showed they would not give up and soon got a corner which seemed to be turned away, but from the rebound they scored anyway, 2-1. That we can also score from a corner was shown a little later. Damian was the taker and delivered the ball to Lars who shot in perfectly, 3-1. Halfway through the second half the game seemed to be decided, a cross from Jochem allowed Damian to head the ball onto the crossbar before Achraf was the first to score, 4-1. Still Bladella did not give up and it was again Joël K who prevented a seemingly certain goal 2 minutes later. This warning did not come across as Bladella were able to make it 4-2 a few minutes later, and even 4-3 a few minutes later. And so it became (unnecessarily) exciting again. In the penultimate minute the game was finally decided. Jochem came up well from behind and gave a fine pass to Shurandy who was not selfish and delivered the ball to Jamie. These kind of chances are his cup of tea and he made it 5-3. Another 3 points and only 1 point needed to win the championship next week.
