  1. Match report

    4x 15 minutes of enjoyment

Today a tough match was scheduled for the boys of PSV F1. To get some real resistance for once, the E1 team of PSCK from Zaandam was invited. Then at least you know in advance that they won't just walk all over you. So let's get to work!
PSV started the match strongly and went full steam ahead towards the enemy goal. It was Ruud who came close, but his shot hit the post. At the first danger in front of the goal by the brave Merijn (together with Pepijn and James "just" 1st year F-pupil!), it was a hit. A well taken corner was tapped in at the 2nd post: 0-1
The PSV players were not very impressed, because within the minute it was already equal. A solo by James from the rear ended with a shot at the post and it was Luc who managed the rebound best: 1-1
Just before the end of the first quarter, Cody showed that he was not physically inferior to his opponent, and with perseverance he made it 2-1.
Soon in the 2nd quarter PSCK wanted to put things in order. It was Armando (perfect slide) and Pepijn (nice save) who prevented the Zaandammers from scoring. While PSV was on the attack they had to take the 2-2. A far goal kick from the goalkeeper ended up behind the defense and in 1-on-1 PSCK managed to score. Again PSV coped well with this dip and via 2 goals they managed to close the gap with PSCK. First of all Robin played himself free on the left and drove the ball into the crossbar: 3-2. Then Bjorn took a corner kick: 4-2. 2 beautiful goals!
The spectators had already enjoyed a half of great youth football, but the cake was not yet over.
With James in the point of attack, the PSV defense looked a bit more vulnerable. Merijn had to intervene once, but was the second time without a chance from a hard distance shot. During a quick counter, there was no defender in sight and the score was suddenly level again: 4-4.
Once again PSV's heads did not go down. On the contrary! A corner kick by Baggio hit the post and Bjorn was alert: 5-4.
Taking a breather for the final quarter.
Loss of ball in the PSV backline was immediately punished: 5-5.
PSV went on the attack again. Armando saw his shot hit the top of the crossbar. Jordan also tried a few times from distance. A good push by Ruud finally resulted in the winning goal. The PSCK defender passed his own goalkeeper in a very sneaky way. Final score of this sweltering match: 6-5!
The emotion after the final whistle was very great and resulted in a dance of joy and the singing of the yell.
That the PSV players were delirious showed at the penalties. Everyone took their penalty with the wrong foot. This led to great hilarity among the friendly team.
Both teams the compliments for this advertisement for youth football. We enjoyed it!
