In the beginning of the match there was an evenly matched match. JVOZ put PSV under pressure early and PSV struggled to get out from under this pressure at first. Both teams created no real chances in the beginning. It was JVOZ that took the lead in the 19th minute. A misunderstanding in PSV's defense allowed a JVOZ player to run free and he shot the ball in behind Peter, 1-0. PSV immediately went in search of the equalizer. Two minutes after the opening goal, a long-distance shot by Djurre hit the post. In the 25th minute PSV equalized. A deep ball from Djurre to Jur made it 1-1. A few minutes later PSV almost took the lead. Heritier started a long rush on his own half. Once he was free in front of the JVOZ goalie, his shot went just wide.

PSV immediately went in search of a goal at the beginning of the second half. JVOZ was forced into the defense but PSV did not create any real chances. PSV started to play sloppily in the second half. Often wrong choices were made and several passes did not arrive. Nevertheless, PSV did get the best opportunities. After one of the few nice attacks in the second half, Mohamed shot the ball just wide in the 47th minute. Four minutes later, PSV did take the lead. A free kick, a few meters outside the penalty area, was hard shot by Mohamed, 1-2. In the remaining part of the match both teams did not score anymore so PSV could take the three points back to Eindhoven.
