PSV faced Fortuna Sittard last Saturday for the cup. It was a poor performance by the team of coach Twan Scheepers and his assistant Colin Williamson, which eventually ended in a very large and deserved victory for Fortuna, which was much more eager to deal with the chances it got.

Already in the 4th minute, Fortuna opened the score from a free kick on the edge of the penalty area. While PSV was still busy putting up a wall, Fortuna took advantage of the disorganization and the quickly taken free kick disappeared through the wall and under goalkeeper Kevin Doré into the goal, 1-0. Nevertheless, it was PSV that had the most and best opportunities in the 1st half. For example, Youandi Renfurm created a number of great opportunities by using his speed from the left to lay a number of balls ready for incoming attackers, but it wasn't until the 28th minute that it led to a goal when center striker Martijn Berden took advantage of one such opportunity. Shortly before, Fortuna had already taken distance when a mistake in PSV's defense was punished and the 2-0 was shot hard from the '16.

Although PSV did not play well the 2nd half started with confidence given the large number of opportunities created in the 1st half. However, again the Fortunes started eagerly and scored a quicker goal. In the 47th minute, an attacker from a counter went alone and unhindered towards the outgoing Kevin Doré, who was then passed with a fine stick ball, 3-1. Soon after, the technical staff decided to play 1 on 1 at the back and striker Vincent Heilmann was brought into the team. However, no more goals were scored on the Eindhoven side. Fortuna scored two more goals in the 70th minute from a counter and a well played attack, bringing the final score to 5-1. A somewhat flattering result given the odds but nevertheless a justified defeat for the B2.
