  1. Match report

After another week of sharp training, another away game was scheduled. Today's opponent was the always difficult Geldrop/AEK. Every year this club delivers a few talents to P.S.V. This season Jay is the example.
At half past nine the team left for sport park de Kievit. Immediately the first setback occurred. Leader Paul was absent due to illness. On the other hand, there was also positive news. Last week the PSV-INISIDE arrived and it featured Joey and Jay. They show the products of the PSV-FANSTORE this season. So the prize for the brightest team of this competition is already known.
As expected beforehand, Geldrop/AEK shot out of the starting blocks. It immediately resulted in two chances. The first shot hit the crossbar and the second one Pepijn managed to tap out with a cat-like reflex. After this P.S.V. took control, which resulted in the 4th minute in a corner on the right side of the field. Niels placed the ball on Gregory's head. The keeper managed to punch the ball out of the goal, but in the rebound Gregory again scored the 0-1. Eagerly the visitors went in search of the second goal, but they also had to watch out for the dangerous attacks of Geldrop/AEK. It was therefore remarkable that the break was reached with this one goal. In the break, trainer Tim put the finishing touches to the game, which was picked up well by the lads as they doubled their lead within one minute. In midfield Niels intercepted the ball and with a quick one-two with Joop, he slid the ball in. Geldrop/AEK seemed to be completely outclassed. Less than 2 minutes later, Joey found Joop. His header hit the post. Another 2 minutes later it was Rico who stepped up from behind and let loose a flaming shot. The Geldrop/AEK goalkeeper only just managed to tap the ball out of his goal. From this corner Geldrop/AEK managed to defend quickly. With 3 men they ran at Pepijn and even for him this was too much (1-2). Our red and white boys were not really impressed. With a beautiful action the Benjamin played Gregory free, but his effort was again turned away by the goalkeeper. Still, the 1-3 was in the air and only 3 minutes later Benjamin was the first to put a rebounding ball into the goal (1-3). Then it was Jay's turn. His first shot shaved the crossbar and the second hit the crossbar. For a moment, the game seemed to get exciting. On the advice of his "fourth official," the referee put the ball on the spot. Fortunately, there is such a thing as justice, because Pepijn looked the ball out of the goal. In the 50th minute it was Rico, who again with one of his rushes, crossed the field and played just at the right moment to Joop. He knew how to deal with such outside chances and brought the margin to 3. This was the moment for the referee to end the match. With a 4-1 victory the team returned to the Herdgang with a satisfied feeling.
