    The Report

Today the final for the cup for PSV O13. The match will be played at the PEC Zwolle stadium, as a conclusion of the trainers' conference. So all the top trainers from the Netherlands can start scouting for the talents that will soon arrive. Unfortunately the chosen time is not ideal for parents, supporters and volunteers. So the last few days these people had to make arrangements to be able to attend. But luckily for many it worked out and because many trainers stay on, the teams play in front of a nice full grandstand.

AZ immediately put full pressure forward, trying to pin PSV down. PSV finds it hard to play soccer and has to give the ball back to the AZ players too soon. There were a few small chances for AZ, but fortunately the Alkmaar goal was not yet on target. Yet it is PSV that manages to take the lead in the 13th minute. Jaivy Lourens passes his direct opponent and gets to the back line. He then brings the ball tightly and hard in front of the goal. It is now a piece of cake for Chahid el Allachi to slide the ball in. Something against proportion at the time, but PSV takes the lead. After this it is AZ that remains the superior side. There were no real chances. It remains mainly to shots from distance that go over or past. In the 25th minute AZ hit the target with a nice action and then a good shot. Just before half time, Alkmaar had a few more big chances, but luckily they did not go in either.

Until around the 40th minute, AZ remained supreme. This is the signal for trainer Tim Wolf to turn things around. This quickly had an effect. Because in the 49th minute Ruben van Bommel shoots full on the post. PSV slowly gets better in the match. Again small chances for PSV, but also AZ keeps trying. But it becomes more and more a match and it looks more and more like we will have to extend. Two times 7.5 minutes extra playing time.

PSV goes full on the attack, some crosses come well in front of the AZ goal, but each time are a prey for the AZ goalkeeper. A PSV free kick is even cleared off the goal line with a turnover. And a few minutes later another PSV effort is kicked away just before the line. And so no goals were scored in the first extension. Will we get penalties or will there be another goal is now the question among many. An AZ cross is cleared by the PSV defense. The game goes up and down, both teams trying. But in the 73rd minute the final blow for PSV comes, after a cross it is Kwakman who manages to head in for AZ. With two minutes to go, PSV still tries, but time is too short.

All in all, we can conclude that AZ was the deserved winner over the entire match. But as PSV slowly got better into the match the match for the championship of Holland promises to be a true spectacle. Just believe that both coaches are going to study the footage and see what can be done differently. Where and when this match will be played is not yet known. But keep an eye on PSV.nl/jeugd for this.
