PSV had to travel to Kerkrade on Saturday for the traditionally tricky away game against Roda JC. However, PSV easily secured victory in the first half against the Limburgers, who already had to play with 10 players after 9 minutes of play. One of the central defenders was sent off with a red card after he pulled the emergency brake when Lennerd Daneels took advantage of the loss of the ball and went alone towards the Limburg goal. The second half could have been done in writing.

PSV started well and created the first big chance as early as the third minute when the up and coming Roel van Linschoten put Joey Konings in position with a good cross, whose effort was blocked by the Roda goalkeeper. A few minutes later the goalkeeper needed the help of the bar after Lennerd Daneels shot the free kick awarded after the red card hard from 20 meters, and via the underside of the bar and the bounce (in front of or behind the goal line?) back into the field. Soon, though, PSV was rewarded for the way it took advantage of the man-meal situation and the way Roda handled it tactically. With good positional play and use of the spaces, a number of great chances were created, from which 4 goals were also scored. In the 18th minute, Lennerd Daneels sent Joey Konings alone on goal with a great cross pass, after which the striker finished in a controlled manner under the goalkeeper, 0-1. A few minutes later, substitute right back Bram Zwanen came up well on the right side, then laid the ball down from the back line for the incoming Jaell Hattu, who shot the ball tightly and low into the far corner, 0-2. In the 28th minute, left striker Karim Bannani was worked to the ground as he penetrated the penalty area at speed. Striker Joey Konings exploited the awarded penalty unerringly, 0-3. Lennerd Daneels then made it 0-4 at halftime when, shortly before the halftime signal, he took a dropped ball after an attack full on his shoe and drove hard half high into the ropes.

PSV followed up the good first half with a sluggish second. With the large lead in their pockets and Roda simply unable to make a fist and not be dangerous for a moment, the game was played and the 2nd half provided a mediocre spectacle. Mentionable moments were only the two goals that fell after halftime. Shortly after halftime, Arnaut Groeneveld served striker Joey Konings from the right with a cross in the form of what appeared to be an awkward little bow, but the striker climbed high above his opponent and hit the ball with his head hard and unstoppable into the left corner, 0-5. One of the sparse moments when Roda managed to penetrate the Eindhoven penalty area finally led to the 1-5 in 57th minute. Defender Kaan Tanriver floored his opponent inside the 16-meter, after which Roda took the awarded penalty kick.

The B2, which had to leave the battle for the title to Feyenoord and Ajax earlier, has no league program next week and plays the last league game of the season against FC Twente on Saturday, May 3 at 12:00 at the Herdgang.
