Today the city derby against Eindhoven is on the program. After two defeats against the Limburgers it had to happen today in the Eindhoven derby. The usual yell sounded pretty bright in the morning hours and let's see if this is reflected in the game. The first 10 minutes of the match both sides are scanning. Both sides have difficulty finding their forwards so there are no chances these first few minutes. The first danger comes from EVV when the ball is passed from the side, but Kyan intercepts the cross in time. PSV reacts immediately and it is Benjamin who reaches Greg but he shoots wide when hindered by a defender. From the ensuing corner kick, Tijn's effort is smothered by the EVV defense. The match now becomes a bit livelier. However, the goal again falls on the wrong side for PSV. From a corner kick another tangle situation arises and the ball is crumbled into the PSV goal. A setback for the boys because they are not the lesser team. PSV is upset for a while as there is often unnecessary ball loss in this period. Despite this, PSV holds the advantage and through various combinations in the midfield Greg is put in position but his shot goes over. Just before half time, PSV had to be careful with a deep ball, but Kyan played well and was able to clear. So we go into the break with a 0-1 arrears, where a glasses score would have been more appropriate. The previous games have shown that the boys are in good shape, and statistically they get more chances in the 2nd half. So there are still some things that can be put right. In the first few minutes, however, this analysis does not hold true. The match ripples on a bit and it is not until the 7th minute when the PSV supporters rebel when Joop sends Greg into the depths. However, his effort is a prey to the EVV goalkeeper. After 10 minutes the well-deserved equalizer came. Joop played himself free on 25 meters of the goal and saw Mo standing free who tapped in the 1-1. PSV became stronger and the statistics started to come out. PSV gets more chances and EVV only sporadically enters the PSV half. It is Davy who with a nice pass puts Greg in front of the goalkeeper, but he can just intercept the ball. Moments later there is an opportunity for Mo after a stray ball from Davy, but the angle becomes difficult.
In fact, it is waiting for the 2-1. Davy sends Greg into the depths, but he shoots a little too quickly for the goalkeeper to save. A minute later a shot by Joey into the side netting. PSV has 10 minutes left and increases the pressure. Rico wins a duel in midfield and finds Davy who dribbles a few meters and shoots. The ball goes towards the cross, but the EVV goalkeeper keeps his goal clean with a beautiful save. From the following corner kick it was Sem who headed in but his effort was cleared off the line. It is often the case in football that if on one side the ball does not go in, the goal falls on the other side. Unfortunately this too came true today. A few minutes before time EVV gets a free kick at 25-30 meters from the goal. After the effort was initially turned away, the rebound resulted in an EVV goal, making it 1-2. Nothing more changed in the final minutes, resulting in an unfortunate defeat.
