The poster for PSV A1 was the best of the day. Leader Ajax would be visiting the Herdgang. After taking a point away from No. 2 Feyenoord last week, PSV A1 tried to beat the Amsterdammers. However, after only two minutes of play, the task was made considerably more difficult. A mistake by Pepe Pla allowed Martina to easily hit a cross. Via Bart van Berlo's leg, Goossens headed in the 0-1. After the Ajax goal, PSV had the better of the game. However, few clear-cut chances were created. Also in the second half, PSV was looking for the equalizer. Eventually it came. Donny Gorter crossed the ball, after which Quainoo, who had just stepped in, worked the ball into the goal via an overhead kick. Both teams tried to force a victory, with the goalkeepers getting busy and needing the help of their defenders many times. In injury time, however, Ruud Boffin could not handle a corner well enough, allowing Poepon to give Ajax the victory after all. The defeat dropped PSV A1 to seventh place. PSV A1 does have two more catch-up matches to play.
