  1. Match report

PSV D1 regained the lead in First Class B from MVV thanks to a well-deserved 4-2 away win over MVV D1.
PSV had the better of the game from the kickoff, although it was noticeable that there was tension on the match. Jeroen Meefout and Michael Maria managed to maneuver themselves into scoring position, but both times missed the goal by a hair.
MVV hardly featured in the game, but the first good attack by the Limburgers after 20 minutes of play was a direct hit (1-0). PSV was undaunted by this and continued to go on the attack. This resulted in the equalizer within a minute of MVV's goal. Michael Maria placed the ball from a corner onto the head of the free Rai Vloet, who nodded it in neatly.
PSV initially dominated after halftime and it was no surprise that our boys, after good passing by Endy Opoku Bernadina through Olivier Rommens, took a 2-1 lead. Shortly afterwards it was even 3-1, after Michael Maria, after a fantastic move from the left flank, conjured the ball into the cross. MVV was on the verge of collapse and Endy Opoku Bernadina just failed to pull the trigger by shooting at the post. As so often in football, MVV managed to get the tying goal from one of their sparse outbursts in the rebound (3-2). Now it was PSV that seemed to be on the verge of collapse. Coach Jefta Bresser immediately intervened well and brought the depleted Rai Vloet to the side for Clint Leemans, leaving Olivier Rommens to play in his familiar number 10 position. PSV regained control of the game and looked to take a 4-2 lead through Jordy de Wijs. While all the players, coaching staff, parents, sister and grandparent were celebrating the victory, the referee decided to disallow the goal due to annoying offside on the instructions of MVV's linesman! All the PSV players were dumbfounded. Shortly thereafter, Sam Schuite managed to take the ball away from his opponent inside his own penalty area with a neat slide. The referee was the only one who saw a foul and put the ball on the spot.
This could have been the turning point in the match, but PSV goalkeeper Jeroen Meurs thought otherwise and whipped the well shot out of the far corner of his goal with a cat-like reaction. What an important save!
PSV D1 took courage from this windfall and went on the attack again. Endy Opoku Bernadina slalomed past a number of defenders and hit a tight cross from the back line, which was looped into the MVV goal by Jorrit Hendrix, who came along well. With this, the 2-4 final score was reached and our boys could celebrate a small party.
