In a week with quite a few travel hours to Milan, another trip is scheduled for today, Fc Groningen away, again good for about six hours in the bus. This is also the life of a top athlete. We want to shake off the Milan hangover today.
The first ten minutes the game waves up and down with not really big chances. A header by Elvio was stopped by the goalkeeper. PSV did create most of the danger in the first 30 minutes, but the finishing was not yet as it should be. After about half an hour the ball is cleared off the line, and a little later a shot by Tufan is stopped by the goalkeeper. In the last minutes of the first half, Groningen became a little stronger, but most of the time we made some mistakes. We go into the break with 0 - 0.
After the break we picked up the game and a nice shot from Mo hit the post and the rebound was shot wide by Geraldo. We became stronger and in the 55th minute a nice attack on the right was set up, a cross from Elvio and Anthony was on the spot and scored the 0 - 1. The chances became more numerous but Groningen was not beaten yet. After 77 minutes an attack, this time on the left, Wouter goes deep after a pass from Geraldo, cross and again there is Anthony who scores the 0 - 2. Groningen has to do something now if they want to have a chance and so there are chances for PSV. After another cross from Geraldo, Elvio also hit the net and finally it was Thomas who appreciated a pass from Maria and made it 0 - 4.
Boys, congratulations on this victory and you can see for yourself that with such a result in your pocket it is more pleasant to travel back to Eindhoven.
