Match report:
MVV was warned beforehand, but still secretly came to Eindhoven for a stunt. PSV was simply not in good shape today. PSV was pinned early on and although the team did have more ball possession, PSV men did not come off their own half well. Before halftime, therefore, neither team had had any chances.
The 2nd half brought significantly more spectacle for the - in large numbers - spectators present. PSV went on the attack a bit more and MVV got more space and opportunities for counters. And so it happened. PSV could not complain at all. With a ball on the crossbar and some dangerous situations in front of the goal, PSV did not suffer any damage in the end. Did PSV have no chances? Yes, but the chances were few and far between. After a quick attack, an effort was narrowly missed by MVV on the goal line. Shortly after, on a second attempt, the PSV attack shot the ball wide. Everyone was already thinking about a draw. But, three times lucky, because just before time, PSV scored the only and thus winning goal after a clever through ball. Undeserved. Yes, but winning against a difficult and highly ranked opponent when playing badly is also a quality.
