The B2 showed great mental resilience in Saturday's home game against Roda JC. At the foggy Herdgang, the team played most of the match with 10 players due to an early red card for defender Reno Kochanowski. However, despite the man-more situation, Roda had almost nothing to contribute and PSV should have increased the score further. Afterwards, it turned out that the team had also done itself an excellent service with the victory in terms of its place in the league table. Because leaders FC Utrecht lost 3-0 to Feyenoord, Kristof Aelbrecht's team is now in the lead.

For the first fifteen minutes of the match, absolutely nothing happened on the pitch. Only in the 18th minute did PSV become really dangerous for the first time, but then they struck mercilessly after a fantastic fast attack over three drives. Arnaut Groeneveld sent striker Joey Konings from his own half into space on the right, who took the ball and laid it wide to the rising Karim Bannani, who immediately shot low and hard, 1-0. After exactly half an hour of play, Joey Konings miraculously made it 2-0. A Roda player played the ball from the center circle back to his keeper, who was pressured by Joey Konings despite the distance but waited so long to kick that the striker was rewarded for his diligence and the ball rolled into the goal via his body, 2-0. A comfortable lead, at least so it seemed, because almost immediately after the Limburgers had kicked off, the referee whistled off a Roda attack in PSV's penalty area, pointed to the penalty spot and showed defender Reno Kochanowski the red card. So said the referee, who was so close to the game that he even got involved in a duel, and whistled a fine game but, according to those involved, had really not observed this properly, for bringing down an opponent and depriving him of a scoring opportunity. Roda scored the 2-1 from the penalty.

Coach Kristof Aelbrecht sacrificed a striker for a defender in the 2nd half and started playing with 4 midfielders. Where it would be logical to assume that PSV would leave the initiative to Roda, Roda did not know what to do with the PSV players who kept popping up on the free sides, and PSV had control of the game. Arnaut Groeneveld and Sam Lammers in particular popped up in space several times and were able to get dangerously in front of goal, but saw the 3-1 foiled or their efforts go just over or wide. Nevertheless, the 3-1 fell in the 70th minute, when Joey Konings headed in a free kick from Sam Lammers. However, at the signal of the Roda linesman, the goal was disallowed for offside. In the 79th minute, after goalkeeper Mike van de Meulenhof stylishly parried the guests' only goal attempt of the second half - a shot from the edge of the penalty area - Joey Konings was able to score his 2nd of the afternoon when, deep in injury time, he entered the penalty area on the left after a quick attack and shot the ball into the far corner, 3-1.
