PSV started the match sharp and this produced two opportunities in the first three minutes. Both opportunities were not taken because the ball was shot in without conviction. PSV kept TSC under pressure and this resulted in several opportunities. However, it took until the 16th minute until PSV took the lead. Dani played a brilliant ball to Shurandy. His cross was tapped in by Thijs, 1-0. TSC spent the last 10 minutes of the first half trying to play further away from the goal. This gave PSV more space. In the 29th minute this also resulted in a goal. A sharp cross from Shurandy went over the TSC goalie and ended up in the goal, 2-0. This was also the score at halftime.
PSV immediately took the initiative again at the start of the second half. Early in the second half, a strong rising Mohamed passed some TSC players. His shot went just over. A few minutes later, after an attack on the right, a cross was headed wide. PSV kept TSV under constant pressure and TSC was limited to defending in this phase of the match. PSV did not manage to extend the score. Several shots went wide or were turned away by the TSC goalie. As often this season, there was plenty of scoring in the final minutes of the match. In the 57th minute Dennis dribbled into midfield. His peal from over 25 yards left the TSC goalkeeper without a chance, 3-0. Two minutes later an attack over the right was tapped in by Beslan, 4-0. In the last minute Mohamed slalomed through the TSC defense. The ball came to the feet of Dani who tapped in the 5-0.
PSV played another strong match. PSV had the initiative throughout the match and by patiently continuing to play football, a large and deserved victory was eventually achieved.
