After a winter break of 3 weeks the first match was scheduled today. A friendly, but against another BVO, NEC/Oss. Since I had the video camera with me today, it will be a report based on video footage.
PSV started strongly and immediately took the initiative in the match. With nice combinations, nice attacks are set up. NEC also shows good play, but in the duels PSV is stronger. After about 5 minutes Joey plays Arne, who in a time finds Joop, who again in a time finds the well-run Arne, 1-0. A goal from the "book".
NEC also sets up a good attack, but Joey is able to head the ball over the goal in time. PSV looks for more and gets more. The second goal is a copy of the first. Joey finds Arne, who opens directly on Joop and his cross Davy can tap in. Again a beautiful attack. NEC plays along nicely, but Tijn and Rico control their attackers and keep them off the goal. And the time one gets through, Pepijn is there. After fifteen minutes another fine action by Arne on the right side. His tight cross was shot over by Joop. A minute later the goal was scored. Arne sent Joop deep and tapped it past the outrun NEC goalkeeper. Moments later Davy was sent in deep, but found the goalkeeper in his path, making it 3-0 at halftime. The spectators got to see an excellent 1st half that contained everything. Good conversion, fierceness, actions, good teamwork and nice goals. In the 2nd half Niels replaced Davy. NEC also made a few substitutions. NEC becomes more threatening in the 2nd half, but PSV also remains dangerous. NEC gets some more space and scores the 3-1 7 minutes after halftime. PSV comes under some pressure in this phase. However, PSV's breakdowns remain dangerous and Arne hits the post. From a NEC attack where they hit the post and crossbar, PSV again got away well. After fifteen minutes in the second half, PSV took control again and started to fight more fiercely. Arne finds Joey with a through ball, but his cross comes just behind Joop. A minute later, Joey wins a duel in midfield, runs 2 meters and then follows up with one of his now famous shots 4-1. Moments later, the game is finally decided. Rico wins the duel on the sideline, can run up and finds Joop who places it in a move past the goalkeeper 5-1 which is also the final score.
