  1. Match report

After the long bus trip last weekend to Groningen (1-0 cup loss), the o15 had to test the quality of the seats again today. Because now the league match in and against Heerenveen (It Hearrenfean) was on the program.

The Frisian club had collected 6 points after 4 rounds. The first matches against ADO Den Haag and Volendam were won. In the last two matches, today's opponent had 0 points. The opponents then were Ajax and Feyenoord. What would the Eindhoveners do in the far north?

The kick-off was at 11:00 am. An early start. Heerenveen applied a lot of pressure, but PSV did not get hot or cold and calmly looked for opportunities to create danger. And they did. After a good attack over several drives, the ball ended up at the feet of Jayden Braaf. His shot went over via the foot of a Frisian player. The corner that followed yielded nothing.

In the 9th minute the goal did come. Jeremy Antonisse had a good individual action, including a panna, and passed the ball hard and low. The ball was tipped away from Jur Clabbers, but ended up at the feet of Amin Doudah. He did not think twice and via the foot of a Frisian the ball went into the goal: 0-1.

After fifteen minutes of play the Eindhoven players doubled the score. Amin picked up the ball halfway through the Frisian half and shook off two men. Via a feint he sidestepped the last man and cunningly kicked the ball with the right into the bottom left corner: 0-2.

In the 18th minute Heerenveen was dangerous for the first time. A long-distance shot went well over. PSV remained the better team and could expand the score further. The threat often came from the right flank, where Jeremy often beat his direct opponent. In the 20th minute he crossed well and Jayden took the ball in one go. Unfortunately his effort went just wide.

Moments later Heerenveen was threatening Robin Verhoeven's goal. The fast left winger sent a dangerous cross that went just over the head of the incoming striker.

PSV still managed to find the net before halftime. In fact, it even scored twice. First it was Jeremy who rose above everyone else and with a good header he turned Mathijs Tielemans' free kick into a goal. And in the last minute Jayden made it 0-4 at halftime after good preparatory work by Jeremy.

So PSV went to the dressing room with a very good feeling and with very good football. If they could maintain the same level in the 2nd half, a monster score could be just around the corner.

Unfortunately, the high level was no longer reached in the 2nd half. That is not surprising and not a shame either. The team never got into trouble. Heerenveen tried several times from distance, but only the safety net behind Robin's goal was tested.

It gave little away, but also created fewer chances up front. Twice Kees van Lindert came almost alone in front of the goal. Once after a beautiful long pass from Joost de Schutter, the other time after a cross from Jayden. Both times he failed to finish. In the 64th minute he had to score. He got a dropped ball at his feet and was able to tap the ball in free in front of goal from about 8 meters. Unfortunately he aimed high over so PSV could not score in the 2nd half.

Thus the team deservedly won by a large margin in Heerenveen. And showed great football in the first half. It was often enjoyed on the bench. Compliments for the entire team!

Next weekend no match. The following week (October 29) we can finally be admired again at De Herdgang. Twente will visit us.
