    The report

In the third league round, PSV's O15 faced Feyenoord's peers at Varkenoord. The home team had gained 'only' one point in their first two matches. With opponents AZ and Ajax and now PSV, it had a relatively tough start. However, PSV had also hit Ajax in the meantime, but were able to turn both previous matches into wins.

From the first whistle, PSV was the dominant side. Tellingly, it took until the 4th minute for Feyenoord to get into PSV's half. Despite the fact that PSV could be seen almost continuously in Rotterdam's half, it struggled to create chances. It took until the 10th minute before the first chance could be recorded. Livano Comenencia sent away on the right Iggy Houben. His shot into the short corner was stopped by the goalkeeper. A minute later Lars Putters also tested the goalkeeper with a distance shot. But again he turned the shot away. After fifteen minutes Iggy was again close to scoring the opening goal. After a beautiful long pass from Yaël Gil y Muinos, he received the ball, cut to his left and saw his shot come back into the field outside the post. In the end, it took until the 18th minute before PSV opened the scoring. A free kick by Sven Simons landed on the head of Livano, who headed the ball in. Even after the 0-1, PSV remained the better team. However, it failed to increase the lead.

The picture was reversed in the second half: Feyenoord was the better team and the ball was mostly in Eindhoven's half. After the Rotterdam left winger had already hit the post with a shot, the home side came alongside in the 55th minute. With the 1-1 draw on the scoreboard, an exciting finale unfolded on the pitch. Both teams had great chances for a second goal. PSV lost one when the ball went inside the post and the rebound hit the bar. In the final minute Iggy had the chance to go 1-2 up after a fine cross from Milan Govaers, but the Feyenoord goalkeeper kept PSV from three points with a save.

After the excellent referee closed the game, the final score was 1-1. Considering the whole match a fair result. Next week follows the home match against FC Utrecht.
