  1. Match report

PSV started the match strongly and immediately pressed JEKA in defense. Several opportunities were created by PSV in the first ten minutes of the match but no goals were scored. The first real scoring chance came in the 15th minute from a corner. The ball was tapped just wide of the goal. In this phase of the match it was waiting for a goal. Then in the 19th minute, with some fortune, came the deserved goal. A shot by Joep from just outside the penalty area went via the crossbar and the back of the JEKA goalkeeper into the goal 1-0. Two minutes later it was another goal. Jeremy slalomed through the JEKA defense and scored in a controlled way, 2-0. Since PSV was much stronger at that point, it seemed like the game was over. PSV had a large field advantage in this phase of the match and JEKA only got out a few times without becoming really dangerous. PSV could not express the field superiority in the remaining part of the first half in more goals so the halftime score was 2-0.

In the beginning of the second half, PSV seemed to continue on the same footing. Pretty soon, PSV slackened off and JEKA was able to become dangerous several times through fast breakaways. In the 40th minute this resulted in a goal for JEKA. A cross from the left was tapped nicely behind Peter by a JEKA player, 2-1. This was not the signal for PSV to pick up the good play of the first half. PSV continued to play sloppy football and lost too many balls unnecessarily. This allowed JEKA to score again through ball loss in midfield. From the edge of the penalty area the ball was shot tightly into the far corner, 2-2. These two goals gave JEKA more confidence. However, PSV had also woken up and started to increase the pressure on the JEKA defense again. In the 52nd minute, this again yielded the lead after an action by Jeremy in the JEKA penalty area. His cross was then tapped in by Jur 3-2. PSV kept the initiative and three minutes before time this resulted in another goal. Nigel crossed the field from the back line and played Jeremy. Jeremy rounded a JEKA defender who then took Jeremy to the ground in the penalty area with a slide. The ball rightly went to the penalty spot. Jeremy then shot the ball inside 4-2. In the last minute Mohamed tried to outsmart the JEKA goalie from distance. However, his shot went just wide so the final score was 4-2.
