PSV started the match well and within a few minutes there was already an imposed chance after a nice action by Jur. He rounded a Hardinxveld player and laid the ball back to Genrich. Genrich shot the ball against the crossbar. PSV continued well and another PSV effort was tapped over the goal by Hardinxveld's goalkeeper. Mohamed's subsequent corner was headed in by Nigel 0-1. PSV pressed Hardinxveld further in defense and this resulted in the next goal in the 14th minute. A wrong kick from the Hardinxveld goalkeeper was intercepted by Jeremy. Jeremy then shot the 0-2 himself. PSV kept the field advantage and Hardinxveld came sporadically to an attack. In the 23rd minute, Mohamed played the ball to Genrich after a nice slalom. Genrich's cross went past everything and everyone. Then Jeremy got the ball and his cross came into the feet of Genrich. Genrich rounded the goalkeeper and shot the 0-3. Just before halftime, PSV scored again. A corner taken low by Djurre came into the feet of Heritier. With several feints he put the Hardinxveld defenders on the wrong foot and shot the 0-4. This was also the score at halftime.

PSV started the second half strongly and within four minutes PSV had scored two goals. In the 32nd minute Jeremy had a nice action on the back line where he outplayed two defenders. He then played the ball back to Jur who shot the ball into the roof of the goal 0-5. Two minutes later it was Jeremy who shot high into the goal from outside the sixteen-meter area, 0-6. PSV then went on the attack even more but this made the spaces very small. As a result, hardly any real chances were created. Each time the attack failed because a Hardinxveld defender was able to clear the ball at the last moment. In the 54th minute, PSV did manage to score once more from a free kick. Heritier kicked the free kick from over 18 meters through the underside of the crossbar, 0-7. In the last minute of the match it was Hardinxveld who got an opportunity to score. The cross was shot wide by a Hardinxveld striker. PSV's subsequent attack was completed effectively, however. After a pass from Mohamed to Genrich, Genrich shot the ball diagonally inside 0-8.
