Under autumnal conditions the match against Dommelen is played today. Just before the start of the match it starts to rain lightly and also the wind picks up which results in a rain of leaves. This does not benefit the already heavy field. Still, PSV starts strong and without any Dommelen player getting the ball it is 0-1. A nice wide pass from Joop expertly rounds off Jay. A minute later another action by Joop but this time it was blocked at the last moment. Moments later, the goal is scored again. Joop plays Arne and the 0-2 is a fact and that after less than 5 minutes. Cat in the box? After 5 minutes a quick conversion by Dommelen, Rico has to intervene and plays the ball. The referee saw this as a foul and from about 20 meters the ball flew by Pepijn into the crossbar. This gives Dommelen confidence and a minute later Pepijn has to pull out all the stops to prevent the 2-2. At the other end PSV gets a good opportunity after Bryan puts Joop free in front of the goalkeeper. In the 10th minute another good switch by Dommelen and a player can shoot free in front of Pepijn. At first Pepijn saved the ball, but the rebound left him with no chance, 2-2. This had not happened before this season. PSV got back on track and took the game back into their hands. Joop takes over an action of Arne and scores the 3-2. After this, PSV gets a few more chances including a shot by Davy and its rebound by Joop. A minute later a free kick by Davy hits the crossbar. Bryan after a good defensive action looks to attack with Arne but the shot here is also just blocked. In the 20 minute a far out kick from Pepijn puts Joop in front of the goalkeeper but his effort rolls just past the goal. After that there are two more good chances for Davy and Jay, but either the goalkeeper stands well or there is a leg between them. The score is 2-3.
After half time PSV starts well again and a good shot by Davy is defused by the good goalkeeper of Dommelen. Moments later Davy finds the goalkeeper again. A goal does not come due to good defending by Dommelen and after PSV lost the ball a player from Dommelen gets a good chance, but he finds Pepijn in his way. In the 10th minute Arne gets a chance after a good action, but he too hits the goalkeeper. Davy hits the post and a shot by Bryan is saved by the goalkeeper. It was not until 10 minutes before time that the margin was increased to 2. A watched ball from Bryan disappears over the keeper into the long corner. A minute later Koen put Joop in front of the goalkeeper with a well-aimed pass, but he was in the way again. Dommelen also gets a chance after a breakaway. However, it is PSV that secures the victory a few minutes before time through a goal by Arne, 5-2.
