After a long preparation we finally played our first league game today. In this league we play matches of 3x 20 minutes. We had to get up early because we played at 9.30 am in Maastricht against MVV. Nassim and Joey played with the E-youth today.
In the first half we had to wait and see. Both teams worked hard but few chances were created. 0-0.
This changed in the second half. Joris came on and seemed to get a great chance, but unfortunately he was turned away from the ball. In the 26th minute it was a goal. From a free kick Mylian shot beautifully into the top of the goal. 0-1. We played strong and were on the attack a lot. There was only one way to stop Joep and that was an illegal one. After a nice action he was brought down in the penalty area. The deserved penalty he shot himself unfortunately wide. In the second half MVV only became dangerous in the counter, we dominated.
We tried to maintain this in the third half and increase our lead. But in the third half we couldn't maintain our strong play. We came under more and more pressure and from a corner kick we scored 1-1. After that we couldn't score anymore and we had to settle for a point. Final score, 1-1.
Today we showed that we can play good football. Especially in the second half we had chances to score more goals. Next week we will go for our first win, at home against Helmond Sport.
