    The Report

On a weekday evening, PSV O15 faced FC Volendam for the nineteenth round. An opponent it still has something to make up for. In a mediocre match in Volendam earlier this season, PSV did not get past 2-2, so it has something to make up for.

PSV started sharp, eager and energetic. Already in the 3rd minute they took the lead: Fodé Fofana was put in position after a fine action by Mathijs Tielemans and he sent in a cross that was easily worked in by Jason Pigmans: 1-0. PSV kept the pace high and played Volendam off the mat in the first half. Through goals by Fodé (great left footed shot from inside the post), two goals by Jason (who reacted attentively when Volendam could not clear the ball sufficiently, after a good cross by Jayden Braaf) and one by Kees van Lindert after a good individual action in the penalty area, PSV quickly and easily made it 5-0 at halftime.

Shortly after halftime FC Volendam scored the honorary goal, but a minute later PSV showed that it would stay sharp in the second half as well. For it immediately scored the 6-1 when Joep Kluskens put Kees free in front of the goal via a fine through ball and he simply finished. After some missed opportunities, the final chord was for substitute Jur Clabbers. He scored twice after some fine preparatory work by Jayden (7-1) and Jeremy Antonisse (8-1).

PSV thus won in very convincing fashion by large numbers. And perhaps even more important: with beautiful and attractive football. Now the team can get ready for the next match: Saturday FC Utrecht away.

Setup: Robin Verhoeven; Thomas Cox (36' Alberto Puts); Nigel Lonwijk, Joost de Schutter, Ian Maatsen (c); Mathijs Tielemans (59' Emmanuel Matuta), Joep Kluskens, Kees van Lindert (52' Amin Doudah); Fodé Fofana (52' Jeremy Antonisse), Jason Pigmans (52' Jur Clabbers) and Jayden Braaf.
