Despite the rain and wind and the general cancellation of football in the South, the match against Eindhoven was still able to take place. The game was moved to the Herdgang, where it could be played on artificial turf. Everyone had to get up early because the starting time had been brought forward to 8:45 am. PSV chose in the early stages to build up from the back, but were fiercely disrupted by the Eindhoven attack and midfield who put direct pressure. If the opponents are physically stronger due to the age difference, there has to be a lot of movement so that enough players can be played. In the early stages, we have to look for points to play so that the forwards can be reached. The first chance is for Eindhoven, but Edson has a reflex save. PSV tries to keep playing from the back and when this succeeds it looks beautiful. And when such an attack is finished off effectively by Greg, you are suddenly 1-0 ahead. Eindhoven continues to disrupt PSV's build-up and gains possession of the ball and via a cross at the 1st post their striker can score the equalizer. Moments later, Eindhoven makes it 2-1 after the out kick is caught by the Eindhoven midfield, a stabbing ball and the deficit is a reality. This is the halftime score of a first half where Eindhoven was mostly on the PSV half. In the early stages of the 2nd half the same picture of play. PSV tries to build up, Eindhoven tries to disrupt. After about 10 minutes, a stray cross from the side that goes in and so PSV is 3-1 down and the game seems to be played. PSV now throws off all their shyness and starts looking for a better result and comes more and more often on the half of Eindhoven. A deep ball to Mo, who was mauled in the sixteen meters and the referee pointed to the penalty spot. Davy seizes the opportunity and the tying goal is a fact. The boys cheer each other up and go looking for more. A shot by Davy hit the crossbar (at training, you can go in). PSV kept up the pressure and put Eindhoven in their own half. PSV gets what they deserve, because 5 minutes before the end of the game, Greg, who must have run a marathon today, scores the deserved equalizer. Had the game lasted a little longer, there might have been more to it. The boys therefore had mixed feelings afterwards. Should we be happy with the first point or could we have won today. The first thought will have been we could have won on the last, but judging from the hugs afterwards they were still happy with the first point.
