Today was a topper on the schedule. We went to the leader in our league,
in which we ourselves are in 2nd place.
In the first half we were put under pressure by FC Eindhoven and we quickly got to a 1-0
deficit. We saw that FC Eindhoven was not at the top for nothing. After that we started
better football, which led to some opportunities.
The second half had only just started when FC Eindhoven had already scored again. A quick
breakout made it 2-0. Fortunately, we had an answer. Djurre set up a nice combination
with Luuk, who crossed the ball and Heritier cleverly tapped it in. 2-1 and we are back in the
match. The second half we played well. We started to combine and FC Eindhoven
almost no longer dangerous. Unfortunately Jur pegged a ball firmly against the cross and we missed a few chances.
a few more chances, so it remained 2-1. We were confident that we could finish the job in the third
in the third half.
We shot the third half from the starting blocks. Mohamed-Amine Ihattaren slalomed through the defense
the defense and put Jur in front of the goalie. His effort was unfortunately turned away. After this good start
Eindhoven became dangerous. They had big guys with a lot of speed, who could also score. And this
they did. Via a counter and a corner the balls were in the PSV goal. Final score 5-
1. We had some chances in the third half but luck was not on our side.
Today we have seen that at times we can play very good football but that FC Eindhoven
is still one size too big. Next week we go to the (hopefully) sunny south, away from MVV.
