PSV F1 thunders on
RKVVO - PSV F1: 0-13 dd 13-10-2007
The boys of PSV F1 today beat the last (and only) rival for the title with playful ease. At home, RKVVO, which had only lost to PSV until today, was defeated 0-13.
RKVVO tried to play good football from the start, and initially managed to keep the PSV players quite far from their own goal.
The game was broken open by Jordan who scored the 0-1 in a controlled way after a good push by Robin. When the same Robin provided another assist for Baggio, the game was in fact already decided: 0-2.
After this goal it was "Cody-time" again. At first he caught a kick from the RKVVO goalkeeper and easily outsmarted him. His second, and PSV`s 4th goal was a copy of this. For his third goal, the assist this time came from Merijn who played a long ball into Cody`s feet: 0-5. Cody`s 2nd hat-trick in 8 days was a fact.
With 0-5 they went to rest, the same score as in the home game which had ended 6-0.
What was noticeable in the second half was that the PSV players did not go for their own success, but instead played their opponents to death with very good combination play.
Pepijn copied the action of his friend and fellow goalkeeper Merijn by playing far in front of his goal to give an assist to Cody who again knew what to do with it: 0-6.
The actions and goals were almost impossible to keep up with.
It was 0-7 by Ruud who tapped the ball in at the far post with a beautiful slide.
The 0-8 was the second goal of fellow star Baggio (what an overview this boy has!) who did not fail to score when facing the goalkeeper.
The 0-9, 0-10 and 0-11 were scored by Ruud, who became the second player with a hat-trick. PSV`s eleventh goal was the highlight of this match. Ruud was put in position after a wonderful combination involving Luc and Baggio.
Bjorn also asserted himself by crowning a solo from the backfield with a goal: 0-12.
The final chord went to Luc, who scored a goal and made it 0-13.
A match in which PSV proved that they are developing a very solid team. Also a compliment to the very strong defenders Armando and James who may not score often, but are at the base of many a PSV attack.
In the coming league games (3 to go) they hope to score the 100th goal of this competition. The counter stands at 84 goals after today!
