PSV D1's home match against Roda JC D1, Rai Vloet's old team, ended in a deserved 3-1 victory for PSV. This time our boys started the match remarkably sharp and one after the other beautiful attack was heading for the Roda JC goal. Unfortunately, the finishing was not optimal, otherwise Roda JC would have been at an unbridgeable deficit by halftime. After 15 minutes in the first half, Jorrit Hendrix sent a wonderful deep pass to Endy Opoku Bernadina, who beat the Roda JC defense, beat the goalkeeper and slotted in the 1-0. PSV continued to play strong in attack and just before half time, man of the match Sven van de Kerkhof again slalomed down the right side past a number of Roda players, he passed to Endy Opoku Bernadina, who skilfully played himself free along the back line and laid off in a controlled manner to Olivier Rommens, who neatly scored the more than deserved 2-0.
After the break Roda JC got into the game a bit better and managed to score the tying goal (2-1) from a free kick.
It was partly thanks to goalkeeper Daan Bollen that Roda JC did not come alongside.
PSV fortunately took control again and halfway through the second half the well up and coming Jorrit Hendrix, after excellent passing by Endy Opoku Bernadina, managed to bring Roda JC the final blow (3-1) with a magnificent shot from the sixteen meters. PSV continued to play well, but unfortunately no more goals were scored. Clint Leemans came closest with a free kick that unfortunately hit the bar.
Thanks to MVV D1 losing points (2-2 against Willem II D1) PSV D1 is currently in first place, two points ahead of MVV D1!
