Last Thursday we played an exercise match against FC Engelen D1, which we easily won 6-0. Today we tried to continue this good line against VVV. Nassim and Joris played with the E1 and we got reinforcements from the D2. Djurre and Luuk were the lucky ones.
We kicked off at half past 10 on the Herdgang. Within a minute we took the lead. Djurre shot a free kick inside the post. 1-0. We were stronger and won all the duels. In possession of the ball we regularly came close to the VVV goal. Defensively we were good, we did not get a chance in the first half. A justified 1-0 lead, which we had to extend as soon as possible.
In the second half Lander stepped in because the E1 had a goalkeeper injury. Kevin helped them out. Unfortunately, Lander gave up a goal. A shot from distance fell over him. 1-1. Things did not go well for a while. The ball was moving around more difficult and we only got to Venlo's goal sporadically. We hoped to turn the tide in the third half.
But it went differently. After a few minutes we were awarded a penalty. This was nicely shot in and we were down 1-2. Now we had to work hard to equalize as soon as possible. Unfortunately this did not happen. We were stronger but could not make the difference. After 60 minutes of play it was 1-2.
Today we played very well, especially in the first half. We showed what we can do, but we have to keep this up for three halves. Next week we have no game because of the autumn vacations. Then we play in Kerkrade against Roda JC.
