The report
This Saturday the match against lowly ranked N.E.C./FC Oss was on the program, but there was no question of underestimating PSV O19. Because the first game of the season, at home, was lost and away in Nijmegen was only narrowly won 1-2.
From the first minute, the boys showed that this afternoon would be one-way traffic. In the 4th minute it was Zakaria Aboukhlal who slalomed through the defense and was brought down inside the penalty area. However, the referee waved away the incident. Not much later, after a foul on the edge of the penalty area on Amar Catic, it was Michal Sadilek who shot the given free kick at the crossbar. PSV continued to create plenty of chances after this. However, it took until the 24th minute before the goal was found. A nice attack via Catic, Justin Lonwijk and Joël Piroe was shot in unerringly by the latter. A well-deserved lead, but still it was N.E.C. that came alongside unexpectedly in the 30th minute. But the Nijmegen players could not enjoy the goal for long. In the 32nd minute it was another beautiful attack over many drives, with the ball being shot in by Aboukhlal. And so the score was 2-1 in favor of PSV. Not much later, in the 38th minute, a short corner was crossed by Steven Theunissen, the ball landed on Piroe's head. The ball fell at the feet of central defender Maxime Soulas and he shot the 3-1. Thus Mark van Bommel's boys went into halftime with a large lead.
PSV then continued to create chances nicely in the second half. It only took until the 59th minute for the 4-1 to appear on the scoreboard. A nice cross from Aboukhlal was well shot in by Lonwijk. PSV's defense gave nothing else away, so the game was really only played on one half. A nice cross by Piroe from the left to the free Aboukhlal made it 5 -1 in the 86th minute. The right-winger shot the ball into the far corner of the goal. In the 88th minute there was a nice pass from Davy van de Berg to Catic with which the latter brought the final score to 6-1.
After the referee's final whistle, things remained restless for a while at Herdgang. It turned out that Feyenoord had equalized just before time against Ajax. After a few minutes the redeeming word came, PSV O19 was CHAMPIONED! Next Saturday, PSV plays an away match against Vitesse, kickoff is at 14.30 hours.
Lineup PSV: Roulaux , Wallenburg(67, Teze ), Daverveld (82, Oosterbrink), Soulas, Theunissen, Sadilek, Aboukhlal, Schoonbrood, Piroe, Lonwijk (67, Van den Berg ) and Catic.
