  1. Match report

PSV started the match sloppily. The first opportunity was for the visitors. The shot, however, went just wide. After this sloppy start, PSV picked up the thread. In the seventh minute this resulted in the first good attack. Joep played the ball deep to Niek. His cross was shot just over by Jeremy. TSC offered good resistance and both teams were threatening a few times. In the 19th minute PSV had an excellent opportunity to open the score after a deep ball from Niek to Jeremy. Jeremy came alone in front of the goalkeeper, tapped the ball past the goalkeeper but the ball went narrowly past the post. TSC also got some opportunities but the PSV defense stood well so TSC could not really get dangerous. In the last minutes of the first half both teams had a few more opportunities. A shot from the visitors went narrowly wide but PSV also just missed the target. In the last minute of the first half, PSV took the lead. After losing the ball in the TSC defense, Djurre got possession of the ball. He tapped the ball past the TSC goalie to make it 1-0.

PSV started the second half energetically. A distance shot by Joep was kept out by the TSC goalie. A few minutes later TSC had an excellent opportunity to score. Peter was passed but it was Joost who reacted attentively and shot the ball away from the goal line. In the 42nd minute it was Amin who fired a hard shot at the visitors' goal. Again the visitors' goalkeeper saved. PSV then stepped up the pressure and TSC had to go back. The wait was on for the second goal that would decide the match. PSV had several opportunities to further increase the score but often a wrong choice was made at the last moment which negated the opportunity. The danger remained that TSC could still score the equalizer on a breakaway. However, the visitors no longer had the strength to make things difficult for the PSV defense so PSV kept the three points in their own home.
