Led by sub-coach Art Langeler who replaced the absent Kristof Aelbrecht, the B2 played Saturday at the Herdgang against ADO Den Haag. The guests won quite easily against a very mediocre PSV, which could take an example from the commitment and perception of the Hagenaars.
PSV found themselves trailing after just over 10 minutes after a curious moment when Mike van de Meulenhof kicked the ball away and hit a fellow player, causing it to land at the feet of an ADO player who did not think twice and lifted the ball over the goalkeeper standing in front of his goal. The first half produced no other major chances for either team.
Although PSV did not manage to shake off the lackluster play in the second half despite the coach's instructions at halftime, they did become dangerous on a number of occasions. Just after halftime, Kaan Tanriver played a good deep pass to Lennerd Daneels, who picked the ball up between a couple of defenders, cut clear and shot well. However, the Hague goalkeeper prevented the equalizer. The same Lennerd was close to scoring another goal in the 65th minute, when he shot a free kick from 25 meters directly at the goal but saw the ball go wide and into the side netting. Five minutes before time, however, it was ADO that managed to capitalize on one of the few chances in the second half from a counter, putting the game to bed. Juul Respen went close with a volley from the edge of the box, but his shot hit the post.
A poor performance from the B2, which plays next week against Roda JC.
