  1. Match report

PSV D1 won the home match against MVV D1 convincingly 3-1. Without Clint Leemans, Jordy de Wijs, Aron Schnorrenberg, Joep van Vroenhoven and Daan Bollen, who travelled to Alkmaar with the C2, PSV D1 started the match strongly against the well-performing guests from Maastricht. The duels were handled well, allowing PSV to stay in possession of the ball at all times. In the fifth minute it was already on target when the ball ended up in the hands of Jorrit Hendrix after a deflected shot from Vinnie Vermeer. Jorrit did not think twice and from close range he shot the 1-0. PSV D1 kept up the pressure and in the tenth minute Endy Opoku Bernadina was sent away well in the depth by Sven van de Kerkhof. Endy shook off the opponents, kept a good lookout and passed to the excellent free-roaming Michael Maria at the far post, who tapped in the 2-0 from close range. MVV D1 hardly got into the game and it was no surprise that PSV D1 took a 3-0 lead after a beautiful move by Endy Opoku Bernadina across the back line and after a good pass from Endy to Michael Maria, a nice shot by Michael. Before half time, PSV D1 created several good chances, but unfortunately no goals were scored.
In the second half MVV D1 seized the initiative, partly due to the wind in their backs. However, PSV's rearguard with Sam Schuite, Sven van de Kerkhof and Sander Heesakkers played a fine game, creating hardly any chances for MVV. Twice MVV became dangerous, but both times Jeroen Meurs, the black panther from Velp, courageously managed to save. In the last minute of the match MVV D1 scored the deserved goal from a corner.
Meanwhile, it was known that Willem II D1 had won 5-1 at home against FC Den Bosch D1, so PSV D1 and Willem II D1 remain equal in the lead with one game to play. PSV D1 plays next week against TOP Oss D1 (who earlier drew 0-0 at home against Willem II D1) and Willem II D1 travels to Breda for the away match against NAC D1 (hardly beat at home this season). We wish PSV D1 good luck in the last league match of this season!
