PSV C2 had some ground to make up after last week's defeat to Feyenoord. Intended victim on the Herdgang today was Roda JC C2, for whom this was the first league match of the season. PSV got off to a good start, because already in the first minute Tom Scheepers steamed up on the right, crossed, the goalkeeper let go and Matthias Verreth was the first to score 1-0. After the opening goal, PSV failed to extend the score several times and got the lid on the nose. Via a distance shot and a free kick Roda JC takes a 1-2 lead. In between, Zohair Labyad scores in an offside position after a fine action by Mink Peeters. Then in the 25th minute Matthias is close to equalizing with a header in front of the goal. Two minutes later it is a real winner: a cross from Zohair is appreciated by Matthias and he hits the inside of the post: 2-2.

After half time goalkeeper Ieke Scheerhoorn reflexively prevented Roda JC from taking another lead. After Joey Koning put PSV 3-2 up in the 12th minute, it took until the 24th minute for the decisive 4-2 to come; Ties van den Eijnde sent Joey deep, who outplayed the keeper and slotted in. After that it was over for the team from Kerkrade. Through goals by Jael Hattu (ball into the long corner), Mink (cross from Ties) and Lennerd, PSV runs out in the closing stages to a deserved 7-2 victory and the defeat in Rotterdam is erased.
