After last week's disappointing match, the boys are eager for a good result, and there is a nice sunshine after the rain of the past few days. Ingredients for a fun match.
After the pass check on the field we start.
In the nice and evenly matched game, Sparta takes the lead in the 12th minute. In a fast break, the Sparta attack is just a bit too quick for our defense. At first the shot was turned away, but in the rebound Sparta did not miss the opportunity and made it 0-1. For the rest of the first half, the game took place mostly in midfield, without any major chances for either team.
In the 28th minute, Tijn had to leave the field after he fell on his arm. He is replaced by Joop. At halftime it is still 0-1.
In the second half, the 8th minute Sem enters the field for Gregory. Cold a minute into the field he is once again in the right place, but just cannot finish PSV's nice combination. PSV now takes control of the match. In the 12th minute, Vince gives a nice cross to Sekou who outplays his opponent once again and does not fail to finish and brings the score to 1-1. PSV immediately went in search of the next goal. It does not take them long. In the 19 minute Sekou came through on the right and crossed the ball. Remco stands at the spot to receive the ball, bring it under control, tap it over his opponent, and drive it hard into the net behind the goalkeeper, 2-1. PSV plays the game out with concentration and almost doesn't let the lead be threatened again.
Fortunately, the boys picked up the good thread. This victory puts them in second place on the league table, just two points off the leader.
