  1. Match report

    '65 0-1 Karim Bannani
    '75 0-2 Jaëll Hattu (pen.)

On ADO's soggy new main pitch, PSV and the home team seemed to be heading for a scoreless draw for a long time. ADO hardly created any chances and PSV failed to take advantage of the ones they did get. Nonetheless, PSV's patience was rewarded and they took the win with two fine goals in the last quarter of an hour.

PSV played solidly and also created a number of good opportunities in the first half to open the score. Offside players Karim Bannani and Joey Konings came through on the flanks several times with good actions, but their crosses were not converted into a goal due to a lack of sharpness in front of the goal. ADO did hardly anything in return. Only once did goalkeeper Mike van de Meulenhof really have to intervene when an attacker from The Hague approached him in the penalty area. In addition, ADO only came close to his goal with a lob from 25 meters distance after PSV lost the ball in midfield, which went just over.

The second half showed an almost unchanged picture, although it was ADO that got the first really good opportunity. In the 45th minute, an attacker from The Hague got through dangerously on the right side of the penalty area, but Mike van de Meulenhof managed to turn his slide into a corner. After that it was really only PSV that created chances, although it took an agonizingly long time before an opportunity was taken. After a scrimmage in front of the Hague goal, striker Matthias Verreth saw his effort bobble just past the post, and within two minutes he found himself face to face with the Hague goalkeeper twice, who parried both shots. With 15 minutes left on the clock, PSV did not expect more than a point this afternoon, but the team showed that they would not be satisfied with that in The Hague and continued to look for the win. In the 65th minute, captain Jaëll Hattu put left-winger Karim Bannani in position with an excellent pass. He had all the time he needed to make a good connection and shot the ball in diagonally, 0-1. With that goal, the game was decided in PSV's favor, although the referee awarded PSV a penalty five minutes before the end of the match, with good direction, after Matthias Verreth, who was sent deep into the goal on his own, was brought down by the Hague goalkeeper. Jaëll Hattu managed to take the awarded penalty, 0-2.

Apart from all the slips due to the wrong footwear, a 'professional' victory for the B2, who remain 2nd in the rankings due to the win over FC Utrecht.
