This match against OJC was actually scheduled for Saturday, September 14, 2013. Because we had to play the famous international tournament in Grubbenvorst on that weekend, this match was forced forward.
The opponent undoubtedly had good intentions, but OJC was simply too weak to put PSV to the test. In the cold rain, a one-sided display unfolded with one-way traffic in a - especially in the first half - too slow pace towards the OJC goal.
An ugly mistake by the OJC goalkeeper broke the game open. PSV stepped up to the plate just before halftime and promptly scored their second goal.
In the second half, PSV stepped up the pace and OJC was only doing damage control, defending by building a red and black wall. The counter eventually stuck at 0-5, but for the same money PSV would have reached double digits in the second half. Next weekend will see opponents of a completely different caliber. For example, an old acquaintance: Bayer Leverkusen.
